At 17:12 hours this evening, Squad 34 and Fire Police along with Station 53 Lower Providence Fire Department were dispatched to the area of Arcola Road and Audubon Ave in the Collegeville section of the township for a vehicle rescue assignment. Lower Providence Township Police Department, Montgomery County, PA were on location and advised that they had a vehicle hanging off a hill with a driver confined in the vehicle. Chief 53 arrived and confirmed the report of one vehicle off the roadway hanging off of a hill being held up by trees with one subject confined adding Squad 68 UPT Fire & Emergency Services. Rescue 53 with a crew of 5 responded and arrived on location where they secured the vehicle by utilizing chain to tie back to Rescue 53. Once the vehicle was stabilized, crews made access to the drivers compartment of the vehicle in order to remove the driver to awaiting EMS. The rescue was completed within 6 minutes of arrival and units began to clear shortly after. The accident is currently under investigation by the Lower Providence Police Department.
