At 3:35pm Monday, Station 34 Fire Police along with the Upper Providence Fire Police Task Force, Squad 68 and Trappe Fire Company No. 1 and Limerick Fire Department were dispatched to 1600 block of Main Street in the township for a vehicle rescue. Squad 68 arrived on location to find a female patient still in the Honda CRV. Squad 68 crew stabilized the vehicle utilizing cribbing and then used cutters and spreaders to extricate the patient through the driver’s side door. Station 34 and 77 Fire Police assisted police by shutting down the roadway and diverting traffic. Fire crews assisted EMS with patient packaging and movement. Trappe Fire Company's Engine 68-2 crew ensured that the GMC Yukon’s battery was secure and applied oil dry to fluids that had leaked from both vehicles. Both patients were treated and transported to the hospital. Fire crews assisted the tow company with debris and oil dry cleanup. With all ambulances (Friendship Ambulance 325 and Skippack Emergency Medical Services) departed, both vehicles towed from the scene, and the investigation completed the roadway was reopened. Deputy Chief 68 made all units available at 4:21pm. |
