Shortly before 3pm Friday afternoon Station 53 , Engine 34 (Collegeville Fire Co.) and Medic 322 (LP EMS) were alerted to a reported residential house fire in the 100 block of Evansburg Road. Assistant 53 arrived and located smoke coming from the second floor rear window and immediately called for a confirmed or working fire dispatch that brings additional resources. During this time an additional call was received by 9-1-1 stating that their family members house was on fire and provided the same residence number but on Level Road and not Evansburg Road. 9-1-1 believed this was the same incident however, units were sent to ensure this was the case and confirmed that this was just an accident. Engine 53 arrived and established a water supply from a nearby fire hydrant and with the assistance of Engine 34 deployed 2 hose lines to extinguish the fire. Crews searched the residence for occupants and animals and unfortunately numerous beloved family pets did not survive the incident. Crews ensures ladders were deployed and that the residence was ventilated. The fire was investigated by the LP Fire Marshals Office along with the RFIT -1 Fire Marshals. |
